STUDIO CLASSES

I operate a small painting studio from my home where I teach my on-going weekly classes and occasionally a series or special class. Except for Thursday mornings, classes are taught in a step-by-step format with teacher demonstrations and emphasis on the development of technical skills and art theory and principles. The class members choose projects with guidance from me, and usually everyone paints the same project.

The Thursday morning format is more open with students choosing their own projects and medium. I spend individual time with each student during the class helping them with a technique or particular part of their project, whatever they’d like help with. It is a stimulating class as students listen to the assistance being given to others as well as their own instruction.

Four sessions are offered, Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer Camp. Signups are for the session and class fees are collected monthly. Fall generally runs from mid-September through the first week or two of December; Winter begins the second week of January and runs through early March; Spring begins in April and runs through the end of May; and Summer Camp begins the week after the 4th of July and runs through August. (Please contact me for exact dates.)

From time-to-time, especially during the summer, I offer beginners’ classes in watercolors, oils or acrylics, and also children’s classes, usually in watercolors. I also teach in the Enrichment Program for the Burnt-Hills/Ballston Lake elementary schools, usually in January and February each year.
